Has anyone done the Sisquoc Road Race in Santa Maria, CA?

I'm thinking about doing this race on June 12th. If I do it, it will be my second road race ever ... and that sort of depends on how bad I suck or don't suck on my first race in two weeks. I'm doing the Panoche Valley Road Race in Hollister. My weakness is climbing, so I'm looking for events with relatively low climbing. And it's hard to find any kind of road race reasonably close to me because there just aren't any in Southern California ... that I can find anyway. They're all central and northern Ca.

So anyways, if anyone has done Sisquoc and can tell me what the route is like, mostly climbing (amount and grade of elevation). Or if anyone can tell me about any other road races in or near So Cal that I might want to consider, that would be great.

I did this RR last year. They had to reschedule due to fires and I wish they would have pushed it back ever further. It was dreadfully hot [they announced 110 on the back stretch! ]

Aside from that the course was a mostly rolling hills .. with nice flats on the back section .. and an uphill finish. There is one little kicker at the start of the lap .. a few rollers .. then a steepish hill [for about 1 mile max] followed by a steady uphill finish

I'm not the best person to answer whether the hills were steep or hard [b/c i love clmibing]. But they were all about 5-6%.

Hope this helps! I might still have my garmin info if you want the nitty gritty of it.

    cheers,
    eva

Thanks Eva. If I decide to do it, I would love to have the nitty gritty of it from your Garmin. I'll let you know.

Ok Eva! Bring on the Garmin info! I'm ready for the "nitty gritty". I sent you a private message, but not sure which you'll see first.
