Saddle for cyclocross - Jett?

I recently put a Jett on my road bike, replacing an old Terry butterfly. I'm quite happy with it and now am debating putting the same saddle on my cyclocross bike.

What I like about the Jett is that I am not getting any saddle contact anywhere except my sit bones - so no pressure up front like I had with the butterfly.

However, I wonder if the Jett is going to be too firm when riding off-road on the very hard, bumpy ground we have around here on our cyclocross courses.

But maybe it will be better, since it will be just the sit bones bouncing around rather than more "sensitive" parts.

Anybody out there using a Jett off-road??

I look forward to the answers you receive. I also have a Jett on my road bike (and LOVE it) and am seriously contemplating cyclocross in the future. I've wondered if that might be a painful experience, too.

Like you I also had a Butterfly (actually the Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow, which is the same saddle) and found it miserable (on my butt-cheeks and girl bits...just the wrong saddle for me).

My cross saddle is harder then my road saddle. It was what I had at the time and hasn't been a problem as cross races are so short compared to longer road rides. If you like the saddle I would give it a try.

Racing or touring?

My cyclocross races are under and hour; my bike has a Jett 143, and I barely notice that it's there 'cause I'm so stressed about staying alive or something. I never really SIT on it, you know?

For longer touring, I would look into a comfort saddle, fit to your sit-bone width. Jett might work, might not, YMMV.

If you want a white one, I have a brand new Jett 143 (never been ridden) that I could sell, cheaper than buying a new one from the store.
