    See-thru custom Sugoi RS shorts

    To disable ads, please log-in.

We just received our Custom Sugoi RS shorts for our team and they are see-thru on the back black panel where you can see your butt crack. We are in the process of contacting Sugoi and hoping that they will fix it. In case they won't, do you have any suggestions?

No advice, but funny you should mention it. I was just talking with someone about all the biker bum you can see out there lately.

    Are shorts getting thinner?

I wear RS shorts. When you don't have them on, they look like they're going to be see through, but once you put them on, they're not. Several of my girlfriends wear them, too, and we all sort of freaked out when we first got them, but we've checked one another out while out on the road. They're our fave shorts hands down.

Are yours actually see through once you put them on? If so, I hope that Sugoi sends you better replacements.

I do have a regular pair of RS shorts that are not see thru. These are custom shorts and the back panel and the sides of the shorts are made with ultra aero fabric which is see-thru especially when they get wet from rain or sweat. The material around the chamois is a thicker material and I wished they would of put that type of material on the back of the short.

DH's team kit from L Garneau has similar problem. Pro actively, I would suggest a small backround print (grey on the black) to provide distraction, or words printed over the entire area. Since his kit is already created, as is yours, the only solution is a base layer long enough to pull down over the butt crack area under the shorts. His lightweight icebreaker or ibex baselayers are long and stretchy enough to accomplish this. Tokie

We had that problem a couple of years ago (different kit mfg - but probably same fabric). They basically said - you picked the fabric so tough luck....

I think they are. I see a lot of it from kit that I know is brand new. Never used to, including when I used to ride rain or shine...

Trying to remember the brand of shorts the guy had on this morning, see-through white. At least with black shorts, you mostly can't see the hairs.

Yes the long base layer works. I just bought a white size small men's craft pro cool superlight sleeveless base layer. It is very light, not bulky and I can wear it when it is hot.

It seems as if several companies are adding "ventilation" type panels in the rear of shorts, just above the crack area.
I think I wrote about this a couple of years ago, when my friend's DH bought her a very expensive pair of Exte Ondo shorts and a matching top. I am usually never behind her, but I was that day. It was disturbing and I had to tell her.
When I bought the Shebeest S Pro shorts last year, there also appeared to be see through material in this spot. But, I had my DH check, to make sure nothing was visible, before I tore the tags off. They were fine, even though it looks see through when they are not actually on the body.

One high school in my district ordered white swim suits with orange side panels for the girls swim team..

That was 1976 and I am still shaking my head.
