I wear the Atalanta skirts. They definitely take care of the "chub rub" problem. I love them. Super functional (pockets are accessible even with a waist pack on). I wrote a review here.

I am going to buy something to wear for my half marathon (I think I earned it). I recently discovered the wonders of body glide for my chunky thighs so I am thinking shorts or a skort. I really like the cute factor of skorts and they look airy. Anyone wear them? If not what shorts don't creep? My thighs are stubbornly chubby and my current shorts (Academy brand) are creeping up to an ugly look!

I found that ALL compression shorts without leg grippers creep on me. And better than Body Glide is SportShield roll-on...it's a liquid silicone-based product. So I wear the RunningSkirts.com skirts with built-in briefs. I have found that they fit better than any other brand I've tried. Some women really like the Skirt Sports skirts, too.
Like you I gave up on shorts, since they crawl up my crotch and look and feel horrible. I either wear the running skirts or a pair of Pearl Izumi compression shorts with leg-grippers (just like their cycling shorts, sans chamois).

I have an Athleta skort I wear for walking; it's a running skort. I love it. The shorts underneath don't creep very much. I also have that issue with boy shorts that don't have compression, but I am happy with the skort. It's snug fitting, though. You might want to go up a size.
Am wearing a Skirt Sports skort. The shorts without grippers underneath isn't a horrible thing if you're not doing a really long ride.

Of course, I didn't pay attention to that detail. But bought the skort anyway since it was discounted.
The version I'm wearing is flared with side slit of course. I prefer a flared style for ease of movement on bike. Wonder how the tighter-styled skorts would be like on bike.
A flared skort with side slit would flatter many women of different sizes and shapes.

Are you looking specifically for a compression short or liner? Because shorts with loose legs obviously don't ride up... either the kind with the built-in brief, or the Ibex wool briefs are wonderful for running (and definitely qualify as a treat).
Heck, you could just wear one of the Sheila Moon ballet skirts over the Ibex briefs and run in those.![]()

Terry skorts made without the chamois are lovely for running. I just got an Avia skort ($9 from Costco) which might be a darn good runner with a pair of UnderArmour compression shorts underneath.
Loose leg shorts ride up on me horribly. Love me those Terry no-chamois skorts and compression shorts/capris!

Not obvious to my thighs. I think I've figured out that in my case the issue is narrow hips with large thighs. Even when I was a 110# 5'3" high schooler I had issues with shorts riding-up and my inner thigh area on jeans ending up with worn holes and destroyed crotch seams.

Hm. Sorry.![]()
I wear holes between the thighs of my jeans, too, have for decades, but the two pairs of shorts I'm thinking of don't ride up on me at all. They're both discontinued so I can't link to them - but one is a traditional nylon-ish V-notch short with a liner brief, maybe 4" inseam, and the other pair is a Brooks short with a wide waistband, flared legs on maybe a 5" inseam, and a sort of soft jersey synthetic fabric. Those need a brief underneath.
Anyway. sorry.

Don't be sorry...I don't mind my thighs so much. Cycling is nice, since leg-grippers solve the creep issue. And runners are no longer limited to running shorts. I love the skirts--even though I almost never wear skirts or dresses in regular life. They are so comfy for running (especially in hot weather). Definitely more flattering on my build than shorts, too.

I want compression liner I think. I am at the heaviest I have ever been and carry a lot of weight in my thighs. I have always had this problem, when I was a size 4 I couldn't wear slim fit jeans because my thighs are bulky.![]()

I went today to a local women's fitness store and found the motherload of running skorts. I ended up buying a Skirt Sports Gym Girl skirt and Nike one. Today I wore the Skirt Sports one for 3.5 miler and it was amazingly comfortable! If every run feels so comfortable I am a convert.![]()

My new non-farm blog: Finding Freedom
I ran in the Nike Skort last night and spent parts of the 50 minute run fighting the shorts. I loved the way it fit in the store but didn't work well in action. They crept to be like bunched up undies and then my thighs were rubbing - ugh!! Might be okay if I lost some weight but I am not sure.
So it looks like the Skirt Sports one is the winner. The "shorties" didn't ride up and the skirt fit well. It will be worn for my longer run this weekend to make sure it won't be driving me nutty during the half marathon. I will probably wear the Nike one when camping or doing outside things. It is cuter than shorts on my, just not a good running one.

I'm not a skort kinda gal, so I can't comment on them, but I do like the RaceReady compression shorts. They're made out of Dryline, so they're compressive without making you feel like you're wearing a sausage casing. They don't have grippers, but I haven't had a problem with them riding up.
