If I were in the mid Atlantic I would love to! It's snowing here; yikes more snow! The snow gods did not think 10 feet for the year was enough!

No hookie for me today. I couldn't convince anyone to 'play' with me and Spokewrench was snowed in. However, I did go home for lunch and rode my bike back to work. Then after work rode 22 miles. What a gorgeous day.

Hubby took the day off and we rode almost 29 miles. It was heavenly. First outdoor ride of '10 for me.

I took the day off and rode 63 miles with the girlfriends. It was great! In many places we still have large mounds of snow along the roads and we were riding in shorts. It was a glorious day! Sunny, 60 degrees, almost no wind. We try to get at least one long ride in mid-week and I plan on posting a women's mid-week ride as soon as the weather gets more reliable, if anyone wants to join in the fun. We generally ride a 14-15 mile pace for the long rides, but it is hilly here (southern York County PA). Yesterday's ride was 5600' of climbing in 63 miles which is about average for the area.

Hi Ritamarie, I'm interested in knowing more about your mid-week ride. Please keep me posted or I'll look for your posting when the ride becomes more consistent. Thank you.

I will play hookey in my head with all of you. Of course, my ditch ride will be in warmer climes - I mean, if it's going to be imaginary, may as well go all the way, right?

Oooo....I might be interested! My parents live in NW Lancaster County, and York Country isn't too far if we're already up to visit them. I'll just make the weekend a little longer

    Playing hookie

Oh great!! I will let you all know. I was thinking that for the first ride, we'd make it 40 miles or so. Women only, 14-15 mph average pace for a hilly route. There are 3-4 of us who ride every week at least once together. We have occasionally had a male rider join us and, though they are great for drafting behind, it does change the tone of the ride. I do plenty of group rides with men, but my women's ride is the most fun!
