Yeee haaa is Right Tri!! goodonya for a job well done!! doesn't it just feel Great?? and see what I mean - it ain't the miles anymore, it's the time. I went straight from a metric (ok....74 miles) to a century coz I Knew I could ride 25 miles so what the heck!
as for the legs being a bit sore: elevate your legs after a ride like that. I usually try to eat within a 1/2 hr and get my legs elevated as quickly as I can. I try to keep them elevated for at least an hour or so, sometimes longer coz it just feels good on my legs. Too date I haven't had any leg issues and I usually do another 25 miles the next day just to keep the muscles fluid.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
