Globe Vienna 2 vs Trek 7.2

I am new to biking. Looking to buy my first real bike. I have been researching, and test riding many bikes. I have decided that i would best be suited for commuter or urban bike. I have narrowed my search down to the Globe Vienna 2 and the Trek 7.2. Any thoughts or other recommendations?

I have a 7.2... but I don't use it as a commuter. Mine is more of a fitness bike. I think with racks it would serve quite nicely as a commuter though

I have a 2008 7.2 WSD that I adore. I wound up getting a vintage mixte off of Craigslist to use as a commuter that I keep my rack and baskets on all the time, and use the 7.2 as my lighter recreational bike (I've ridden it on 50+ mile rides). However, it has a very comfortable, stable, relatively upright ride and have long thought that if I ever come by the funds to upgrade to a nicer road bike for "for fun" riding my 7.2 will become my dedicated commuter. It's been a great bang-for-the-buck bike for me so far. Happy shopping and welcome to TE!

That's funny badger, my mixte is my errand bike. I don't go enough places to call it a commuter
