    bike frame and trainer

I've in the past put my old steel frame bike on my trainer without any problems. I would like to put my carbon frame bike on the trainer this winter. Will the stress of the trainer damage my frame (I've been told not to clamp anything on a carbon frame)? Do I need to be concerned with the possible damage to the frame when using a training tape where they have you come out of the saddle?

    Thanks!

I've heard conflicting reports, too, but my carbon bike is on my trainer right now. My LBS owner said not to worry about it. If there is any potential risk of damage it's almost negligible. My CF bike sits on my trainer every winter (I ride it twice a week) and I've done that for the last 3 years.
Then again, I know others who wouldn't DARE put their CF bike on the trainer. Meh- it's the only bike I have so I have no choice. Maybe if you have a steel bike you could put that on the trainer and eliminate any worries...

My carbon bike has been on the trainer for the past 3 winters. No problems here.

    Me too

The carbon hotness is on the trainer right now, and it's been on there alot lately due to work. The only requirement is changing the rear wheel skewer to the one that came with the trainer. It a harder steel skewer instead of the lightweight one with my easton wheels.
