    Returning to the bike

    Hi Gals,

It's Becky from San Jose, CA. I hate to admit it but I've been off my bike for several months! No, the weather has been great but it's the motivation!! Saturday mornings roll by and DH asks if I am going riding or sleeping in! Lately, it's been sleeping in. We have a precious 18 month old!!

Okay no excuses, NY resolution 2010 ride my bike!! I love it each time I forfeit those extra 30 minutes of sleep...

I couldn't even think of riding when i had a tot. That's why i started getting fit when my kids were in high school. You need your sleep! and you need your time with your tot. if you can find the time and energy to ride, i say more power to you, you've got more gumption than I ever did.

It is hard to get fit when you have young children, but it can be done. I just wish I had included the kids a little more when they were very young, like by getting a bike trailer. Instead I woke up at 4:30 AM, so I could go to the gym at 5. Once they got to be 5 or 6, I did take them hiking, x country skiing, etc. But, it was more of a special thing. I think it's good to make it part of your daily life.
