I have two HIM planned so far this year. May 23 is the first one, the Auburn Tri. The bike portion has 6,000 feet of climbing over the 56 miles. July 31 I will do Barb's Race again.

So...because my coach asked all of her clients to do a preliminary annual training plan by December 1, I have a fairly good idea of what races I will be doing in 2010. In addition to monthly 5ks and a few 10ks along the way, just because I need to do such stuff, the triathlons on my plan are:
Cottage Lake Supersprint, June 19, in Woodinville, Wa. http://marymeyerlifefitness.com/newtri/. Just to kick things off. First coed triathlon for me.
Five Mile Lake Women's Sprint Triathlon, July 3, in Auburn, WA. http://www.buduracing.com/pdf/2010%2...n%20070310.pdf. Did this one last year so thought it would be nice to do it again and see what's changed.
Mid-Summer Olympic Triathlon, August 1, at Blue Lake Park in Fairview, Oregon. http://www.racecenter.com/midsummer/. This will be my first Olympic length triathlon. All I put on my "goal" part of the ATP was "Finish this in a non-mortifying time". (yet to be defined...). I did the sprint triathlon here last year, so I know the bike and run are reasonably flat.
Olympia/Black Hills Olympic Triathlon, September 11 (no website yet). Susan O did this one some years ago.
What are y'all doing in 2010?

Auburn in California?

Yep - here's the link.

Mmmm--sounds like the bike course will suit you. Will look forward to hearing about this one.

Other than this one race that Wahine told me about (http://www.edmonton.ca/attractions_r...triathlon.aspx), I haven't given it much thought but you just inspired me to do some research! Looks like there are some good events around.
I've been vaguely thinking that in addition to working on my swimming form I should check out the Chi walking/running books and work on my foot and ankle stability. Taking the dog for daily walks seems to have exacerbated some muscular imbalances. It's also been a bit of a challenge to establish routines re my fitness goals, but hey -- it's a new year, right?
Race Center lists both US and Canadian events: http://racecenter.com/. Trifind too: http://www.trifind.com/Races/Interna...riathlons.aspx
You know I learned on chi running so I'm a fan. I bet a few exercises from a good PT would help with the foot/ankle thing as well.

I've registered for my first half-marathon at the Illinois Marathon May 1 and am doing a sprint tri the end of May (Trifesta Triathlon).

I definitely want to do the Black Diamond HIM race again in September. Other than that I don't have a lot of plans. Maybe I'll try the Donner Lake tri again. I'm 0-for-2 on it - one DNS and one DNF.
On a whim I'd put the "Freestyle Made Easy" DVD in my wishlist and forgotten about it until it wound up in my Christmas stocking.
Then, it was just announced that the Trek Women's Tri Series is having a sprint race just down the road from me in July.
I can't think about this and train for my marathon!Anyone know how quickly those races sell out?

This thread brought me back from months of lurking, but that meant I had to find my password first! Anyway, it's good to be back, and Happy New Year to all!
I signed up for a women-only pool sprint in May. I wasn't sure I wanted to do a pool tri (did one last year, and one OW tri), but this one always sells out fast and it's early in the season and close by, so I entered. It filled in less than 36 hours this year.
I also signed up for an OW tri in August. 700m swim, 22 mile bike (yahoo!, I was trying to find a race with a longer bike course), and a 3.6 mile run.
I am still perusing the other race possibilities for 2010.
I signed up for a 3-part run technique clinic through a local triathlon club. The first session is next week. I have the Chi Running DVD, but haven't made it all the way through it yet because it always puts me to sleep!

After hurting my Achilles in June and losing several months from running I'm taking a step back from my Olympic distance plans and am looking at doing an Aqua Velo or two.
So far my calendar looks like:
* May: Kinetic (or Pocomoke) Sprint tri???
* Jun6: Tour de Cure metric century (registered)
* Jun27: Celebration Sprint Tri: relay swimmer (registered)
* July: Rocketts Landing (or Colonial Beach) Aqua Velo (Oly distance)
* Aug22: Iron Girl Sprint tri (registered)
* Sep: Sandman Sprint tri
I doubt I'll do any run-only races as I don't want to pressure myself to get back running too quickly.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

2007 Jamis Coda/Terry Liberator
2011 Trek Mamba 29er
Maybe if I write it here it will actually happen.
Run to Register 10K in March
Indianapolis half marathon in May
Celebration sprint tri in June
Iron Girl sprint tri in August
Marine Corps Marathon in October
and if I can figure out how to fit it in around marathon training, an olympic tri in September (not sure which one)
DivingBiker,
I too am planning to do the Indianapolis Mini Marathon! I signed up already. It will be my second time! We sound like we have similar plans, I want to do the half in May then I'd like to do a full in July. I've been toying with the idea of some sprint triathlons. Best of luck to you in your plans.[/I]
Awesome to see so many races planned for 2010! It's exciting to think of all the race reports we'll read!
I mostly do convenient races and a couple in Seattle. Creature of habit? I like racing and I like that it's in my backyard, so that's what I do, race in my backyard!
May 2: Bloomsday (12k run, not registered, pretty much guaranteed and registration just opened)
May 30: Coeur d'Alene Marathon (half marathon, not registered, but I always do it during Ironman prep)
June 27: Ironman Coeur d'Alene (registered)
July 11: Valley Girl (sprint, registered, but depending on how I feel I may opt out/sell my spot)
July 25: Race the River (sprint, registered)
August 7: Coeur d'Alene Tri (olympic, not registered, probably will)
August 15: Danskin Seattle (sprint, registered)
September 12: Spokane Tri (olympic, not registered, may or may not)
September 19: Trek Women Seattle (sprint, free entry from being top 3 athena last year, but not yet registered - it is open though)
November 28: Seattle Marathon (full marathon, not registered, probably will)
