Child trailer on a road bike?

My hubby and I have 3 bikes at our house (minus my son's) one of which is an old walmart brand mountain bike that currently pulls the kid trailer. I haven't tried to remove the coupler from the mountain bike yet. The problem that I forsee is that my Trek 2.1 WSD has a quick release rear wheel and the old bike is fixed axle. Is this coupler going to work? The trailer I have is an InStep.

It should work fine.. my fx has a quick release skewer on the rear wheel and it's fine with the trailer attachment. It's been on there for 4 or 5 months now with no issues.
