Few wks, ago went to a presentation on what will be done to make the upcoming 2010 Olympics, the most environmentally sustainable Olympics so far. It is an animation that aims to teach ...no words, just music, moving images. Images had to 'speak' to a multilingual audience since sustainability is a difficult concept that can require lots of explanation to a broad audience.

Yes, there are some concepts which clearly some Vancouverites might recognize. Beetles refer to the mountain pine beetle scarred wood that was used (instead of discarded) for the roof the Olympic speedskating Oval facility.

Anyway we'll see. Bikes do have a place in all this. THere will be 1,000 bike parking spaces.

That's a pretty cool video. Neat how they got the concept across without words. I heard it loud and clear. Go Vancouver!!! I love that there will be 1000 bike parking spaces! The tree hugger in me is oh so happy!
I WILL come see your beautiful city someday. It's on my bucket list!

You would love the Pacific northwest, TriGirl. Would be more than happy to give any TE member bike tour here along with other local TE folks!

We hope to post cycling-related stuff during Olympics on our blog.
