"Ride your bike for goodness' sake"

I got this from the Vancouver Aquarium's volunteer mailing list today. I don't know who wrote it, though:

    GREEN UPDATE

MCj04378500000[1]Climate Change is Coming to Town Song

(To the tune of Santa Claus is Coming to Town)

You better watch out, you better not drive.
You better ride bikes I'm telling you why.
Climate change is coming to town.

We're making it hot, we're raising the seas.
Gonna feel life at a hundred degrees.
Climate change is coming to town.

    If people keep on driving.
The poles will soon be lakes.
The air will stink like petrol fumes.
Ride your bike for goodness sake.

We're making a list, we're checking it twice.
We're gonna find out who drives and who bikes!
Climate change is coming to town.

I didn't really think it was a "filk" song -- just a cute jingle. Chill out.

    Not.

    "Chill out"

    No.
Posting a piece of art, and posting opinions about it, is gonna lead to some disagreement. I would never rip on anyone's choice of bike, or knowingly trash something dear to them. But posting a song, and telling the one person who doesn't like it to chill? How about if I say I don't like Queen? Or Pablo Picasso? Should I chill? How about if you say the Who S7&*(s? Should I order you to chill?

On bikeportland there are a whole bunch of lyrics to Christmas songs changed to bicycling songs. They are pretty cute.
