    Clipless road pedals suggestions

Hey I was wanting to get my girlfriend clipless pedals for her road bike for Christmas. I was thinking Shimano PD-R540, anyone have any experience with those?

She's fairly new to road biking, just got her bike last summer, but she's pretty serious about it. Until it got too cold and dark she was doing 30 miles after work almost every day and 60-80 miles on the weekends. I was thinking something in the $50 range but it needs to be something built to last because she's already worn out other components on her bike after 6 months. She's already got the shoes.

Also, she's pretty tall, if that makes a difference.

    Thanks

I have used A-520 for several years and they are about the same price. I have ridden them over 14,000 miles in three years. I love them. I have had no mechanical problems with them at all. I take care of them! They are SPD so that I can use the same shoes for my road and MTB. I think you can't go wrong with either of these pedals.
