    November Nor'easter!

Check out this video! It was taken right by my house (ok a 10 minute bike ride away). My family is ok as we are not in a flood zone.

12,000 people are without power and they are predicting the flooding to be the 3rd or 4th worst in the last 100 years...

We've had a ton of rain and alot of wind, but thankfully my five big oak trees are still standing and have all their branches. Glad I live on high ground.

Saw some of that on the news this morning. It's finally stopped raining here but still windy.

Looks like it stopped raining here, too, although they're forecasted plenty more through tomorrow. I suspect I won't be going to the gym tonight (15 minute walk each way).

Just as i had decided to go into town and to the gym, a big gust of wind came up. I'll take that as a sign, I hate driving in the wind.

I received an email from the USS Eisenhower describing what a nor' easter was. Haven't heard from my son. They usually take the ship out when it gets bad. Hope things clear up soon for you guys on the east coast!

3rd Nor'easter since mid Sept. Well 4 if you count the double whammy a couple of weeks ago.

I'm wishing I had packed an overnight bag - not sure I can/want to try to go home tonight. There will be at least a foot of water at my front door. The last storm I had water over top of my first step - and by tomorrow after 3 more high tides, I expect it to be to the 2nd step. The price we pay for living in paradise. I do have my boots in the car though so if I attempt it I can park a few blocks away and walk in for a look see, perhaps to grab a change of clothes and my laptop and and go find a motel on higher ground. Ugh.

Winds here are gusting to 55 mph, waves are 22' high, every 10-12 seconds, and no relief till Saturday.

The latest forecast I've seen for the DC area says that south and east of the city will get more rain than north and west over the next couple of days. Good news for Zen and probably me, bad news for Tulip, ASammy, and plenty of others.

Forecast for Arlington tonight says light rain, which is not so bad so I could probably make it to the gym. Except darn if I don't have a migraine now. I guess I'll have to stay home, warm and dry under a blanket. I'm so disappointed!

    Stay safe, everyone.

Since Tuesday was my last day of work for the week, I haven't been paying attention to the news or weather. All I know is that on Monday, the forecast was for sunshine all week, and it's been nothing but overcast. A storm down the coast would explain some things. Oh well, still beats being at work! Can you turn your bikes into paddle boats?

I bought the cutest purple suede shoes yesterday.

But I can't wear them with all this rain.

On the other hand, I'm lucky that this is the biggest problem I have with this weather.

I was doing Pilates in my living room, and whilst prone on my back, I noticed a HUGE wet stripe all the way across my ceiling. And then, drip, drip.

My roof leaks. Bad. Tomorrow I have to call a contractor to get a repair estimate on my LR ceiling and roof repair. Buckets are in the attic, now. I cannot afford a new roof, so I hope it can be repaired to last another year.

It's still raining like crazy here. Pouring. My house is melting!

Oh boy, it seems like it was not your day yesterday.
