anyone have problem with mounting Brooks saddle?

I saw a Flyer Special on ebay that I'm very tempted to bid on. But DH thinks Brooks' rails might be too short. He certainly thinks so when he was eye-balling it at LBS and thus went with a Selle Anatomica instead. I'm thinking of getting a Brooks for my touring/ commuter and since it's on ebay, there's a no return policy with the seller.

I don't want to end up spending money on a saddle that won't fit me. Right now, my seat on the beater bike is all the way back on the rail (DH was all the way forward). Advice anyone?

    Thanks!

Had that problem on my Cannondale, not on the Kona. The men's saddles have longer rails than the women's, so you might not have a problem.

I found the "S" model Brooks saddles (their 'women's' models) to indeed have too-short rails. I could not get my saddle back far enough, for one thing. When I got the men's models instead, all was fine. Perfect, in fact! And I have VERY wide hips and sitbones.

My LBS was able to rig my brooks saddle on my Specialized bike, but grumbled about the rails being too short (and it was the Men's B-whatever).
Due to the amount of crap I took about having a brooks saddle on my carbon fiber bike, I have gone back to my Fizik. Not as comfortable, but less of a pain in the a$$.

you could get a set-back seat post if the rails are too short.
