I purchased the DiNotte Road Riders Experience package of a 400L headlight, 400L taillight, and two 2-cell batteries in the summer when there was a special, for my winter commuting setup. I have decided that I need detachable lights since I am using my commuter for grocery shopping and other errands, while before I alway had it stored securely (and could use my road bike for around town). The batteries have never been charged, they have been stored in a cool dry place, and the headlights have never been used. The charger was removed for an "emergency" charging at work, in case I forgot to charge at home, but has not been used. DiNotte is accepting this as a new exchange; this would really be the least hassle for me, but I thought I would offer it here at the discounted price to possibly help out one of the winter commuters!
$479 shipped and insured, USPS flat rate package. Currently this package is $529 including shipping from DiNotte, so there is essentially a discount of $50 or about 10%. I am going to ship it back next Thursday, so please respond before then.
I have a road rider package that I am keeping; I have the 400L and battery mounted on my helmet, and the 400L to my rear rack. The 400L headlight is so bright that on lit streets, I run it on medium or low and still really catch motorist attention (it will run for about 6 hours on medium I believe). The 400L taillight can be seen a mile away, which seems like overkill but is actually about the required distance / time to warn drivers in sidestreets about your approach. The flashing is great for the daytime to catch motorists' attention in side streets. The included hardware allows flexible setups, including a Y-cable and long cable to run both front and rear off of one battery; light and battery helmet mounts; long cable to put battery in jersey pocket instead of mounted on the helmet; hardware to mount the rear taillight in many different places (seatpost, rack, seatstay, etc.). Batteries charge quickly, in a couple hours, and the charger has an indicator light for fully charged. Note that both of these lights are permanently attached to the bike and do not have quick releases. Replacement / costwise, I am comfortable with leaving the 400L taillight on the bike for a long shopping session, but not a front headlight -- since my 400L headlight is on my helmet though, I can easily take it with me.
