    New safer route!

    Excitement!
I have found a new safer route to school that actually includes a wide, two-lane, bike-specific path!!!!!!!!

(Only .5 miles out of the way)

I no longer feel like I am going to get run over by distracted soccer moms and aggressive-driving powersuits!

    Yay!

Now, if only I could get university students to look both ways before walking into the street....

Great job! Since I started bike commuting a few years ago, I think I'm on my 4th or 5th different route. My first route was BAD! Took me a few weeks to figure out a safer route. The rest have been minor tweaks to avoid as many hills as possible. They aren't big, but I'm lazy, especially in the morning!

Hey- that's great news!! Get a bell (or blowhorn) to alert those college kids.

Changing routes is a good idea- keeps it interesting.

Tjf: Yes---my new route has fewer hills too! Yay! I don't mind them when I'm on my light(er) bike without the extra weight of paniers, laptop, backpack, etc. etc.etc.

Trigirl: You are right! It is actually really nice to have different scenery in the morning! (And, I get to enjoy it more because I am not quite as on edge!)
