I'm starting another week off...
So, this weekend we were up in the Adirondacks and did two very long hikes, one of which we ran 4 miles of! On Saturday we hiked from ADK Loj to Mt. Marcy, hiking 7 miles up at a good clip (we left at 6 and summited at 9:40) and decided that we felt good enough to run down part of the way. It was a really exhilerating run and of course we passed about 200 people coming up as we went down. It took us 2 hours and ten minutes to get down - a combination of running, rock hopping, scrambling, and walking. It was very primal and now my husband is hooked on trail running. Yay!
Sunday we were both hobbled to some extent so decided to do a recovery hike and hiked 5 miles out Indian Pass, relatively flat - and returned the same route for a total of 10 miles. Although we did not run, I am glad we hiked Sunday because it gave the muscles some memory (or something - because I am not sore today.)
Yesterday was off - drove home.
Today I rode in and back commuting so will not run again til tomorrow.
