So I signed up for Ironman Kentucky. I was amazed by how sick and dizzy I felt once I did it. My coach is on board, my PT, my husband, and the rest of my team is on board, but that doesn't mean that I am not a nervous wreck. I am coming out of an injury in the past couple of months, but it is a year out and I have a coach to help me through it. Yikes. I think I have lost my mind!

My friend signed up last year and completed this year. This sounds exactly like what she said after she signed up.

Good luck! You can do this!

Good for you! I have a number of friends who just did that IM through TNT as their first. I am sure you'll do great.

I went up to watch IMC this last weekend. Signed up for next year. This will be my third go at this race so I'm OK with it. My friend came with me, got inspired and signed up too. He was soooooooo nervous for the sign up, I thought he was going to throw up.

How exciting! The countdown begins I try to just forget about it for a few months until I have to start training.

I swear, half the challenge is the mental commitment of signing up. From there it's all plan execution and tolerating and adapting to changes. You've already put your name on the dotted line.

I thought about doing Ironman Canada next year instead of Coeur d'Alene, but I enjoy getting it out of my system early in the season and playing at shorter races the rest of the summer. Also, no long runs/rides in super hot weather is a major plus... though the long runs/rides in super cold weather and the endless trainer miles are a major negative so maybe it evens out in the end.

I expect we hear a lot on how everyone's IM training goes. I need inspiration to keep going, so your reports will be very helpful!

ok...I've got butterflies and I'm not doing anything as spectacular as IM. I am looking forward to following everyone's training.

Thanks for the excitement/support! I think I might have to put it towards the back of my mind because I have a race in 3 and a half weeks that I have been working towards for a while
Funny that that "I am going to be sick" feeling is so common! Clearly we are all a little bit crazy since this is what we do for fun!

Good for you. I'm really impressed. I can't even imagine training for a full Iron.
