Well, I'm on the ride thread party train here... but it's nice to share w/my TE buddies.

40.1mi w/the club. Some rolling sections, but mostly flat. Was happy for that after yesterday's climbing. Frankly didn't know if my legs had any pedaling left in them. The mixed group of buddies helps. Nice day too. Then went to teach my pedal friends inside at my spin class. New interval profile--tough, but good.

Last Thursday, I dropped my bike at an LBS after a quick ride for maintenance work; I picked it up tonight after work, stopped at a trail between the LBS and home, and rode for an hour while the sun set. I was really conscious of the time and didn't get too far from the car, as I don't have lights on the bike yet.

I really enjoyed my ride. I had the LBS put a cyclocomputer on the bike, and was surprised to see that I'm not *quite* as slow as I thought I was. So part of the time I was watching the computer and part of the time I was looking for wildlife. I saw a doe with two fawns -- likely the same ones I saw nursing some days ago, as they were in the same area -- very close to the trail. The fawns were skittish, but the doe crossed the trail as I approached, and stopped to munch on things just off the trail as I rode past her.

And I saw a Great Egret in the lake.

I don't usually ride in my work clothes, but I was not about to spend precious daylight hours changing!

18 miles today-all the while dreaming about the trip to the lbs that we are taking this weekend to pick out my birthday present! Soon to be riding a real bike and not my POC WM MTB*
