I did it- signed up for my first Tri!

Well I finally got up the nerve and registered for the Carpenteria tri in September. I am going to do the sprint- it's a short course: .5k, 15k, 5k.

The bike will be no problem, swimming should be okay (I swam a mile in the pool this afternoon), so now it is working on that 5k run. I have always hated running but then again I never had a good reason to run. So far I am walk/running 2.5k and increasing.

My cycling and swimming buddy are going to start getting out to the beach and swimming once a week, that is, when my wetsuit arrives. Water here is a chilly 64ºF. Brrr. But there are always dolphins so that is a bonus.

Yay- I learn a lot here at TE!

You'll have fun! I love triathlon. Even if I am the slowest runner in the entire universe. I still love it.

Wish I could swim along with you and those dolphins.

Yup. Started on TE by requesting a MTB thread three years or so ago. Started swimming because of a back injury and couldn't ride. Bought a road bike in December to get back into MTB shape. Got hooked on road riding. Ride and swim with best friend who does tris. It was a natural to end up here!
