I didn't see a post thread for July 8th rides.. Hope Im not just blind!

    Anywhoo..here goes!

It was one of those Wednesday Night Rides where you're not sure before the ride how you're feelin (strong, so-so, etc). Well, I had just had my baby checked up for an odd sound and asked them to also lower my seat a mm. Perhaps I've found the magic geometry for my riding position now, or the stars aligned...something!

Rode our 2100', 32 mile route at a PR best of 17.9mph avg!

Along the way, I think I found out why some of you ladies like to race! We were riding along in a paceline at up to 35mph with some "big boys" on a 3 mile flat section of road...omg...what an exhilirating feeling! What fun!

Great ride..not too hot (could have been a little less windy, but oh well!)... GREAT DAY! I'm STILL excited about it.

Me and my WHITE LIGHTNIN are still very much in LOVEEEE!

That's great. Once in awhile the stars align.
I had 2 great rides in a row. Wednesday I went with my group ride for a 42 mile very hilly ride, in Lincoln, Sudbury, Hudson, Stow, and Bolton. Not only did I discover streets and even a neighborhood path that were new to me, but 2 of the men asked me if I had "gotten stronger." This is a "social" ride group, but they are no slouches. I dropped all of them on the hills, except the leader. Funny, I noticed for some of them, they just don't use their gears correctly.
Well, there was a nice little surprise at about mile 18; a hill that we take people down on one of our rides. Except we were going up. We got onto the street from some other street and I didn't realize where I was until i was climbing! I'd say close to a mile of 15-20% grade. One person had to walk, which I have never seen. This was followed by going onto Long Hill Rd., which is exactly what it says. At mile 32 we met up with the group doing 50 miles and I was able to stay with them (they are a bit speedier) until right near the end, when I just got exhausted. The only negative thing on this ride was that when we stopped at Honeypot Hill Orchard to use the bathrooms, someone asked us if were the group from the Senior Center?" ! Geez, it is an older group, but some of these people make me look unfit.
Yesterday I went on a short ride with my DH. He decided to take off on me on the back side of the loop, where there are 3 hills. I was so mad, I was going super fast. Then he got a phone call and had to stop, and I just went home. Before I climbed the hill to my house, my average was into the 16's, which puts me just about back to where I was when I got sick 2 years ago.
