I "placed" - 8 out of 23 in a totally non-competitive swim (1.8k lake crossing) - This is mostly just for people to do the challenge, but you do get timed.
The winner had like 28 minutes, my lowly self 41. I wasn't really pushing, I veered a bit, and after all it was for enjoyment. Lovely conditions with a view - and great water temperature (around 22°C)...
Still, it will be sometime until I can place top 10 again anywhere so I've got a grin on my face.
't was great - we had to pick up our numbers at 7:45, got to have coffee, then you were taken across in a boat and we got to ride the "lake" guard rubber dinghy, whoda ever thunk I'd get to ride in one of those...It's a little secret you didn't know about us women. We're all closet Visigoths.
