About a month ago, a riding buddy of mine (who just started road racing this season) asked if I'd coach her and a group of triathletes that she'd recruited in how to road race. All of them are very strong riders, but had no idea about road racing strategy or tactics. I only had a few chances to meet with them (and never actually had everyone together at the same time) before the "goal event," which was a 3 race omnium in town this weekend. We had an AWESOME race! Wow, your race report made it sound really fun! Great job, too. It's awesome that things really came together, and you gals were able to keep your cool and score some points.
