OMG my SO got such a deal!

My SO has been riding a Jamis Quest for the past 6 years. It's a nice steel bike, but she's gotten a hankering for a carbon bike to deal with the crappy roads around here. Since the Jamis fit her so well she decided to stick with them. Well, she's been drooling over their mid level carbon for a while. The bike retails for about $3000 so she's been a bit reticent. Last week we went to a store in Reno, which is the only "local" store that carries Jamis. They didn't have that particular bike in stock, so we asked if they could order a 48cm bike for her. When the guy heard that she wanted a 48cm he asked if she was interested in a deal. Jamis had a 2007 48cm bike that was the next level up from what she's been eyeing, on sale. The 2009 retails for $5000. They were selling the 2007, still new in the box, for $2200. Holy cow! Of course, she jumped on it.

The bike came in yesterday. What a beauty! It's full DA with Ksyrium wheels. You could make more breaking it down for parts and selling them than what she spent on the whole bike. Wow! Now we just have to get out and ride! I bet she'll kick my butt with that thing.
