    Assos shorts

I'm looking to purchase the Assos H FI Lady S5 Shorts, and my measurements are right in between those for size small and medium. Anyone have these shorts that can offer advice? For what it's worth, I wear small in Pearl Izumi and medium in Terry.

I would take the medium I think.

Well I don't have those shorts, but I've got to chime in because that's just weird. I take a Medium in PI and a Small in Terry.

That IS weird. I wear mostly Pearls, and they're all size small. The Terry Bellas (which I hate, BTW) are mediums...I tried smalls and could barely get them on!

I have Assoss bibs in size small. Compared with my PI bibs (also size small), the Assoss are a closer fit. Might be due to the fabric, though, than strictly fit. I prefer the Assoss but they are too expensive to own in bulk.

If it helps, my hip measurement is 37.5 inches (which I think puts me right between their S and M sizes in the chart). I got a pair in size S and they fit me wonderfully. That said, is there a place you could try them on to be sure of the fit, or can you return them if you're buying online? It's a pricey pair of shorts so probably only worth it if you love the fit.

Thanks for all the advice! I'm leaning toward the smalls, but just to be safe I ordered both sizes. I figure a few dollars to ship the wrong size back is worth it, given the price of the shorts.

What did you end up with? The Small or the Medium? I'm thinking about the same pair of shorts and have the same hip measurement you do. Which size was the 'winner'?.....And what do you think of them so far??.........Thanks!

I ended up keeping the small shorts. The mediums weren't overly huge, but I didn't get any compression with them. So far I really like the shorts. I don't notice a huge difference on shorter rides, but for longer distances they're really comfortable (even without Chamois Butt'r!!). The chamois does a great job without being too bulky. Hope you like them as much as I do!!
