    Austin Danskin sprint triathlon.....

I did the bike portion of a sprint relay. It is a 12 mile course but from what I have been told it is one of the rougher ones around. It has quite a bit of hills.

I was on my hybrid and wanted to make it in under an hour. I made it in 59:57!!!!

Everytime I do something like this it makes me want a road bike even more!!!

The swimmer on our team was talking to my husband while I was biking and on the bus ride back to vehicles. ..... well she told him about a couples triathlon that is coming up....We cannot get it all together but I think seeing me out there and others of all shapes, sizes and colors is making him get the tri bug!!!

I told him he can use the hybrid and get me a new/used road bike!! He didn't say no.....maybe I will be writing about him and I doing on in the future!

I am very excited about that...

Super job! You've sure earned a faster bike.

How do you do transitions in a sprint relay?

They had us do it at the bike rack. We just swapped the timed chip (that was in a velcro strap) and the next person took off.

I really really want a road bike.....I am going to see what I can do to make that happen as soon as possible. I thought it was kind of funny this very nice woman (very skinny and fit on a nice road bike) was encouraging me as we were topping a taller hill and I said thank you.......I then flew past her on the downhill......and never saw her again! She had a strange look on her face when I passed her.

anyway...we had a good time and thats all that matters. Our entire team was made up of breast cancer survivors. This was our runners very first triathlon! We are working on her so she can get over the swim.....
