too bad they cost so much! Apparently their closeness (genetically) to wild cats also brings out undesirable traits like spraying and not being as human friendly.
I used to be a cat fancier (translation; bred pretty cats and sold kittens) but the state of the cat nation turned me into a cat rescuer.
I've always loved the wild look of this breed but will never have one. Beauty, for sure, in this case is only fur deep.

Too bad, I was really fascinated by them.

I would never spend that kind of money on a cat. Was going to say when there are normal cats languishing in shelters.

But my mom has an "unlicensed" pure bred Maine Coon (he's the son of a pure bred cat without the certificate and a certified tomcat). He basically cost nothing (just vet fees for vaccinations) and is beautiful.

I saw one of these cats on Saturday. He was in one of the gardens that was on a garden tour in my area. He was a young intact male and he was beautiful. I was surprised he was outside, but he seemed to be having fun playing among the hostas.

One of my friends is a photographer who just got a Bengal kitten about a month ago- his antics crack my up and he's a great subject for her. He's very wild tho- climbing the rafters (literally).

I agree that I'd probably not buy one, but they are gorgeous! And good essence of catness.
