Social ride in Seattle on 7/10/09?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Hubby and I will be in Seattle for the STP a day early this year since the hotel we usually stay at decided to make that weekend a two night minimum stay. Is anyone interested in a social ride on Friday the 10th? Our hotel is right up the street from U-Dub next to the Burke-Gilman trail. I'm flexable about distance (10-15-20 miles?) and it'd be fun to stop for lunch or a light dinner somewhere along the way.

    Any takers?

I haven't made lodging plans yet for STP, but if I'm there a day early, I'd like to do a short social ride!

will be working that day but I could catch up with you et al, for dinner, if you end up gathering somewhere after...fyi: that's my best event: I EXCEL in post-ride libations and munchies!
Hopefully you'll get to meet some of the Seattle area TE contingent - wonderful women (and some men too!) all!

Also, Oxysback - you may want to post this in the Northwest ride area too; if it has the same heading, it's also a good call-out to Seatle-area TE'ers.

I'm going to be riding in the Stp. Maybe I'll see you there. Not sure if I can make the get together or not, but I'd like to.

Good idea! I'll post a link to this thread in the NW section.

Depending on my schedule, I might be able to be there. Would be great to get together! We're right close to the B-G so we could meet up there easily.

Ok...just a bump for this thread since we're only about a week away. We're staying in a hotel on 25th near U-Dub, so maybe whoever wants to come can park at University Village? We can meet in the parking lot of our hotel (I'll send a private message with the name of the hotel to anyone that's interested in joining us). It'll be me, my hubby on his fancy new recumbent trike, and a friend that's coming from Wisconsin, I think.

There's a pasta place at the Village that we got to every year for dinner called Pallino Pastaria. Maybe we can start on the Burke-Gillman at 25th, then go along Lake Washington until the end of the trail and back, then have a light dinner?

Time-wise, I was thinking of starting at 3 or 4-ish. Any feedback? Anyone still interested?

Drat. Maybe a later time depending on who's interested in coming?

I'd be interested in taking part in this! I should warn you that I've never, ever ridden in a group before and really only have a month or two of cycling experience so far, but I am familiar with the Burke-Gilman, U-District, etc...

I should still be able to carve out the time. Any thoughts on route/distance? I'm just getting back on my bike after several weeks of feeling blah.

This will be a social ride. No pacelines or sprinting required! You'll be fine.

We'll just be riding from U-dub to the end of the trail (heading north) or until we decide to turn around. I'm not sure how many miles that is. Anyone know?
