    Army Surplus into DIY Panniers?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I was digging around the surplus stores online trying to find the bag the OYB guy uses for panniers (having no idea what that kind of bag is called). His are here:

I found this one, that might work and already has straps:
    More info here.

    Thoughts, suggestions?

Holy Cow! What a great idea! I just got the Ortlieb front rollers for a trip and those seem to be about the same size. I went to an army surplus store one Saturday a couple of years ago, and there were all kinds and sizes of bags. I think these are my favorites. I like how they lift up.

Oh, I forgot to mention I did find the exact bag the OYB guy is selling at $40ish for $14 here I got one and it's really nice- just need to add a couple straps to hook it the the saddle rails or handlebars and it's already got a strap that can go around the seatpost/headtube. Mine didn't look used at all- more like NOS. That's why I'm perusing what they have for panniers.
