    MIA MP3 Player

Booo! I know there are much worse things in the world and I shouldn't throw myself a pity party over this, but I can't find my MP3 player and I want to cry. I just bought it like, 3 weeks ago and I loved it so much! I fear it may have fallen victim to the washing machine. Unfortunately I have three other roommates, who aren't pillars of kindness or responsibility so if I did wash it, they likely would have chucked it without saying a word. Now for all I know I'm searching in vain. ARGH!!!

I am almost 100% positive one of the first things I did after I used it last week was unclip it from my jersey before I collapsed in an exhausted heap on my bed. I still have my icky old 512MB one that I've had for four stinking years. I loved my little 8gig cutie pie, and I spent hours upon hours building the most perfect playlists. *sigh* It was a clearance score for $50 but that doesn't make it any easier to throw down $50 bucks again.

We're finally getting some nice weather and I don't think I can ride without my tunes. Maybe there's some alternate universe where I can, but, but, I want my little clippy player.

Okay, whining over. Going to dig through my truck before it gets dark. How did I manage to keep the old player for four years and several moves, and I lose this one after mere weeks.

Ok, so it's not the end of the world, but it still bites the big one! I totally understand your frustration!!! Maybe it'll turn up. Sometimes I lose things and then they just appear out of nowhere (just don't buy a new one yet or it'll be sure to turn up). Sorry you lost it.

w00t! Reunited, and it feels so good. I was trying not to get my hopes up, because I had looked in the vicinity three times already, but I thought, "What if it fell down from where it was and wedged in between it and the baseboard heater." Sure enough!

Whew, okay, this one is squirrelly and must be watched carefully. It's about 1x2" and black unlike my old blue one. Hmph, the lower capacity models had color choices.

Okay Zen, I recommend getting Catholic with me for a minute. There are various on this theme, but this is the one my grandma used to here goes:

    Dear Saint Anthony,
    please come down,
something's lost and can't be found,
if you find it, please bring it to me,
    thank you dear Saint Anthony.

That's their marketing strategy - they'll release the colored models next year, and hope you'll love them so much, you'll sell/gift your black one to your DH/sister/friend/mom/(pick someone, anyone) so they can sell you a brand-new one!

An old lady - I think she was Jewish - told me to drink a glass of water then turn the glass over when something is lost. It works about 95% of the time for me. My daughter (a Pagan) says it traps the thief fairy.
I can do five more miles.
