Retro clothing for cycling- pom-pom socks

    To disable ads, please log-in.

For the past few days on the bike, I've been wearing my sockettes with little poms-poms at the back.

If I get real embarrassed, my tights are long enough to cover temporarily since I'm slightly short-legged anyway.
For some pieces of clothing, I do wear them while cycling ..to wear them out before eventually discarding. It's only if I'm just cycling around. I will wear an old pair of socks on a cycling trip deliberately and on last day of trip, will throw them out.

I do overdo it abit with old clothing: will wear out pieces to death before discarding them.

Right now am wearing a T-shirt..from 27 years ago. Well, I'm at home.

I have a lot of those socks and they're fairly new
They were quite the style when I played on the HS tennis team.

    Still wearable, Zen.
I figure that it's still cold enough that I have to wear long tights and no one is warm enough, outside to spend time looking at my feet/legs except for the driver behind me.

Besides alot of drivers think cyclists are nuts anyways.

I want to get some of those little girl ankle socks with lace. Ideally, they would be coolmax or somesuch, and made for cycling, but more fun!

So they could just sew some pom-poms on their socks!

Must be overstock for feet weenies.

So they're the rage among some generation Y (or is it Z, my age is showing now) hipsters? They would want to wear them with their plaid tight shirts.

    Whatever works.

    Somewhat OT story:
When I was on the Jr. High track team, another girl on our team won a sprint against the rival team's lead sprinter. Her middle-aged pudgy coach was furious and started screaming about anything he could. The judge calmly told him that she had actually done one thing against the rules -that socks with poms were not allowed (don't ask me why!)
Anyway, the triumphant coach yelled - YES! Girls are not allowed to have balls!!!!
He thought about it for about 3 seconds as all of us 13 year old girls started to giggle, he turned beat red, mumbled something about not protesting the race results anymore, and shuffled away as fast as he could.
