I came home from a windy cold ride today to find this in my mailbox. This puts a whole new spin on "performance art" and had me laughing out loud. Check it out:

Yeah! Cool movie, and I actually believe most of that was real, although maybe the animated walking sheep figure was a put together out of stills. UK-E's new digs in Wales has a view of a hillside with big flocks of sheep. First morning there we watched them being herded into lines for feeding. It looked like "synchronized flocking", a new olympic sport.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

I wonder how long it took them to coordinate all that.

    Gee..impressive.

A few years ago, during 800 km. bike tour ride that he and I did in southeastern Ontario, we stopped in a city where there sheepdog competitions.

The dogs were put through tests of herding 2-3 sheep into various corners, corrals. They are amazing dogs if trained well.

Yes, they are athletes. It' exhausting just to watch them run around herding the huge herds.

But the dogs look so happy doing it.
