    West Side Hwy in Manhattan-parking?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Does anyone no where would be a good place to park on a Sunday in Manhattan to ride the path along the West Side Hwy?

We are coming from Long Island. Although I work here, I commute by train during and parking does not look to be too good during the week. My husband was wondering if there is any parking around Battery Park.

    Thanks for any info.

I would suggest this place, right off the West Side Highway, and right on the bike path:

If you definitely want to be close to Battery Park, some of the garages in Battery Park City would be easiest. I can get a specific address for you later in the week, as I bike over there all the time. PM me if you want; I live in the Financial District and can easily check out whatever you need.

It's usually possible to park on the street on weekends, but you might have to drive around hunting a space.

I don't know about parking near Battery Park, but there is a huge park and lock garage right on the greenway at Pier 40, West Houston Street and the West Side Highway.

You might find street parking in Tribeca.

Thank you so much PamNY & Ccnyc. I use to work near Pier 40. I was not sure if it was a public parking garage or a garage that you could park just for a day. The rates seem quite reasonable for NYC parking.

I now work near Battery Park, 195 Broadway, however, I have only investigated the immediate blocks and the South Street Seaport.

Pier 40 seems like the best & safe option.

Thank you for the great info!!!!

Now I cannot wait for the next nice Sunday and my husbands fitness level to move up a few notches.

JoAnn call me (i'll send you an email with my cell) if you are still interested. I know an awesome parking. I will try to map it. It is right next to the west side highway (exit 155th) adjustent to the bike trail. Never full - always empty. Has to be cleared out by sun down though.

There are several other spots I know. Let me know.

I tried to map the route as if you were coming through the Triboro bridge. Here it is:

Use the zoom in feature and also switch the street view into the satelite view (left column). You will see the huge parking lot. Only thing - I recommend parking more away from the bike path closer to the highway if parking over the weekends.

    Thank you Martina.

This looks like another great option. I am not sure if my husband rather park in a garage, however. I will let you know.

By looking at your map it looks like it begins at the beginning instead of the middle of the path. At least at a point where we would begin, ride south and back again.

    Thank you so much!!!
