    Angry this wacky weather

I wish the earth would calm down for just a bit. I never know what to count on--some of this stuff wasn't even in the forecast. I woke up Sunday morning to snow, Monday morning to sunshine and singing robins, Tuesday morning to sleet and now crazy wind, and who knows what's in store for tomorrow. A tornado? Satellite debris? I'm not getting in much riding at all.

It's the last few weeks of the dreaded gray, and I'm SICK of it, I tell you! It's 50 degrees here today, but so gray outside...I'm making myself stay conscious.

I know just what you mean. Just a week or so ago, we got 3 feet of snow (24 inches in 24 hours, a record for here); then we have a few days of clear; now we just keep getting hit with an inch here, a couple there, and it's cold!

Finally, this week, it is supposed to get a lot warmer - like 40's to low 50's by the end of the week! Yeah, but more rain is sort of in the forecast; but a lot of the snow should melt; so I should be able to at least get out next weekend and ride a bit on my road bike!

Us Seattleites had sunny skies and and temps in low 50s yesterday....perfect cycling weather! More sun forecast for the rest of the week! Although I am not too confidant that winter is done with us yet.

It's a sure sign of spring when Sundial begins the weather reports! I look forward to more of them, Sundial (but I hope you don't have bad tornadoes and such, just cool clouds)

Thank Tulip, I do enjoy being the weather alertist.

    Weather forecast for the Southeast:

    Severe storms & snow ahead

Mark Avery, Lead Meteorologist, The Weather Channel
    Feb. 18, 2009 6:52 am ET
    South

Severe storms are possible across the Southeast today as a cold front moves through the region.
The primary severe threats will be damaging winds and large hail, with a few tornadoes also possible.
Gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall are also expected.
Snow may mix in with rain in the Southern Appalachians tonight.
The tail end of the front will produce rain and thunderstorms over the Florida Peninsula tomorrow, with windy conditions continuing over the Southeast.
An Alberta clipper will bring a chance of rain and snow (in the Tennessee Valley and parts of North Carolina and Virginia) to the region over the weekend, along with a reinforcing shot of colder temperatures.
Highs today will range from the 40s in northern Virginia to around 90 in Deep South Texas.

That's absolutely the truth! When I visited Portland and Seattle in 2006, I happened to come when the weather was unusually outstanding. I thought, how lovely, but people kept telling me it was an aberration. Same thing in Albuquerque once--I went in September and everything was lush and green, but that was totally wrong.

I can barely get through January and February in Arkansas. I'm not a gray weather kind of gal.
