    Celebrating 10,000 Miles

Since September 2007, I have ridden 10,000 miles. I'm trying to think of a fun way to commemorate this occasion. Any creative ideas?

If you love the bike you have, get it striped! Some decorative paint to celebrate, maybe your name and the dates you started/hit 10,000 on?

    Congrats! Well done!

My goodness, that's almost 670 miles per month!

How do you get the time, I struggle to get in 100 miles per month.

Anyway a MASSIVE big congrats, it's amazing.

So, have you decided what to get or give yourself?

Now THAT's a good idea! How many miles do saddles last, generally? I haven't noticed any serious degradation (except for cosmetic wearing of decals), but then I don't remember how it felt 5,000 miles ago, either...

Actually this is only 19-ish miles a day, or about 150 miles a month for 17 months. I ride 110 to 130 miles a week commuting (that's 13 miles each way, ~9 times a week, or about 2 hours a day in the winter), and add in for-fun rides or long training rides for the STP, and bam -- 10,000 miles.

I like the painting the bike idea, but I have ti, and it's so clean... Plus I'm saving up to get ghost flames painted on it . I think I'll probably get some Ben & Jerry's to celebrate, and possible splurge on a new saddle.

oh, definitely a new saddle. And write something underneath it to commemorate! Once you're sure you have The saddle, of course.

    Congratulations, terrific milestone!
