I'm getting certified in a few weeks to become an instructor, and I thought I would get a sleek pair of Nike cycling shoes to commemorate the event. I had been suffering from shoe envy after seeing a woman in my class with such a gorgeous pair and decided to go on Nike.com. I couldn't find the link to cycling apparel, and then discovered, via an online chat with a rep, that Nike didn't renew their contract with the company who makes their cycling shoes. I was so heartbroken! I must admit I only wanted to buy Nike because they're so stylish. Can anyone recommend another brand? Something cute and practical? Does anyone like their nike cycling shoes and prefer it to another brand?

You might still be able to get those Nikes from PricePoint or Nashbar.

I have a spare pair of nike shoes. Altea II. What size to you need? These are brand new and maybe you would want to purchase them from me? They are size 39.5.
Bleecker_St girl--- Ha, ha, as soon as I saw them and then I read your post, I had to go back and look at the shoe and it does remind me of a pepsi can also. But you know, if they weren't so darn expensive, I'd probably buy a pair of Pepsi cans too! I'll just stick with my Northwave's for now.

I've had some really basic Nike Kato's for years, my first cycling shoes and they have been great and a perfect fit - in fact they still are, looking at them you would hardly think they'd been used at all! Only problem is they are getting a bit soft in the soles now, so I'm in the process of trying to find a replacement - looks like it won't be Nike if they stopped making shoes! :-(
One day, I'm going to buy a cottage in a small village and become its idiot!
