    Neck and Shoulder Pain

    To disable ads, please log-in.

When I ride my spin bike, I have pain in my collar bone area and down the back of my head to about the middle of my shoulder blades. When I bring my chin to my chest, I can feel it a deep pull in my neck and shoulders. I stretch and do push ups to get my arm and chest warmed up before I ride.

It was so bad in January that I ended up in the doctor's office with a prescription for anti-inflammatories. Any ideas as to a solution to my problem?

you probably need to adjust the stem/handlebar position.

    I agree with Irulan
    Good luck

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

yup, ditto - and check your form in the mirror to make sure that that you are spinning with your shoulders and neck relaxed. I teach cycling and I can't tell you how many people cycle with their shoulders in their ears.

Or finish a long ride with them there. When I'm getting tired, I get the same pain and it is simply because I'm letting my shoulders get too chummy with my ears. A few stretches and a bit of focues on my posture and the pain goes away.
