I just got the book "The Competition Bicycle" by Jan Heine, and was looking for more info about Doris Kopsky, the women's national champion of 1937. Turns out her bike, a gorgeous machine built by her father, is on display in your neck of the woods. Might be time for a road trip.

I'm surprised by how short the women wore their shorts! Those would be enough to keep me off a bike! It's not that I'm a prude, just too self-conscious.
