    Xmas gift:New Job!+More regular cycling

    Finally, secret is out:

Yesterday I received my biggest Christmas surprise and New Year's gift ....I will start a new full-time job with a totally different employer mid-January next year! Yes, it's still a job directly related to my skills/career path, better salary, job is in public sector (I've worked for several different public sector employers before in addition to private sector ones) more sane working hrs., broader range of benefits, abit closer to home. So bye-bye to ungodly very early wake-up time in morning, and on a totally non-career best reason:

I can cycle round-trip everyday in safe cycling seasons (26 kms. round trip) or if weather gets super bad, I get bring bike on Skytrain/commuter train since the bike route is right above for over 50% of the commuter train route. Yes, I believe there is a subculture of regular cycling commuters among staff at this Head Office location where I will be, employee discount for transit passes, etc.

Now my wrinkles underneath my one eye, can slow down its development. Nearly last 3 years, I swear, my face has aged faster due to current job.

It's like seeing some light at the end of the tunnel...and I will celebrate my 50th birthday also in January just shortly after starting new job.

    YAYYYYYY!!!!

Congratulations Shootingstar! Wonderful to hear that the light at the end of the tunnel is a light and not the on-coming train.

I'm more proud of my sun-shine induced wrinkles than the office ones. It's great that you're in a bike commute friendly office too. What a way to start off a new year.

    Happy dance!!!

This is something that's gonna be really nice. Sane working hours again. And an actual time you can reliably shut the light off, like after hours and on weekends. Excellent.

Not embarrassed to say that I did include in resume, cycling as part of extra-curricular activities with a pointer to the women's cycling group that I was involved to help organize rides and workshops, for a few years.

Being an "older" person, I'm clearly active, healthy (I hope this stays this way for a good while..)

thx, for kind words ..they are like TE christmas ornaments on this snowy day.

Maybe you sleep on that side more! I have a sleep mark on one side and not the other.

    Congratulations on the job!
