Yeah! Bought Look 585 Elle frame - now just have to build it....

Ok. Wow after a lot of angst I made my decision and am upgrading from my aluminum Bianchi to this beauty. Just got a great deal on the frame/fork and am starting looking at components. Any ideas?

I'm looking for suggestions on short reach handlebars (alloy, and without a skimpy drop), suggestions on color schemes ie handlebar tape and colored tires, whether I should go full dura-ace or use an alternate crankset, or pretty much any other good ideas.

Am going to keep everybody updated as the build takes shape!

Woot! That is one of my fantasy bikes. And the 2008 models have been hard to find for a while; kudos for getting a good deal. That frame calls out for a white saddle and bar tape. I have the white Schwalbe Stelvios (bought from TE) and they look cool but they definitely need to be cleaned off after rides.

I think it will be hard to find a short reach bar that doesn't also have shallow drop. The Rotundo bar from 3T looks to have an intermediate amount of reach and drop & might be a good compromise. http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...7&category=637

As to build, you can't go wrong with Dura Ace, Red, or Record. All the top of the line gruppo are fantastic. Dura Ace 7800 is being dumped for pretty good deals, and I happen to the think the 7800 crankset is the coolest looking crankset ever. I haven't warmed up to the 7900s looks yet.

Good luck and you had better post pics!

Hi ilima! On ebay it looks like I can get the full 7800 Dura Ace group for about $800!!!! (including the Live.com BIN 25% discount)...Have you had any experience w/ Red? I can't find a little bike built with it so I've never actually ridden it. Advice?

Am definitely using my white Bontrager inForm saddle that I already own. FYI: All of the cutout saddles I tried just had cutouts that were too big. This is a good compromise for any of the other smaller ladies out there.

So, Yup, the white saddle (even has a little blue!).

Any ideas out there on blue tires that actually stay blue? My Conti 4000s haven't really kept their color well....
