    The Speed of Lite...

...or, Here's My "New" Litespeed Solano.

I mentioned on another thread a couple of weeks ago that I was unable to resist the temptation of titanium. In fact, I think I said I was foolish to think I could look at, fondle, and test ride these bikes while still being able to resist the temptation to adopt one.

Adopt one, I did. She's a 2005 Litespeed Solano. I call her Lucy.

I had to spend some time admiring the welds, of course...

And since we all love saddle-talk, I'm trying out the new Bontrager Inform RL right now. (The Terry Butterfly that was on this bike when I bought her was definitely not for me.) So, here's a shot of the Inform RL (WSD) in the 140mm size (I have narrow sit bones.)

Heh. I hadn't even work out the I Love Lucy thing yet. And now I can't stop giggling over it.

Ti feels like a dream--light and smooooth, but not noodle-y. At least, that was the case on the bikes that I looked at--two Litespeeds (a Tuscany and this Solano) and a TiCycles Hyak. I'm told that ti done badly is a mushy mess of a ride, but I haven't experienced that for myself.

She was a Craigslist find. I was actually looking for a bike for a friend when I stumbled across the listing for this. When I saw that it was my size, I couldn't resist checking it out. And once I'd ridden it, I had to have it.

Congrats! Lucy is beautiful. Gosh, what a find. Why can't I ever find stuff like this when I want it, whaa (bike envy rears her head). Ride her in safety and good health. Thx for sharing.
