    Predictions for Nov 4?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    The question is:

"How do you THINK the election will go on November 4?"

    not..."How do you HOPE..."

Please: no politically charged comments...I'm just curious about what we're thinking...not trying to start a debate.

Wow! Those are some interesting results of the poll. I think it's *entirely* dependent on voter turnout.

I'm going to put this thread on ignore because 1) I don't see how it can possibly not become controversial and 2) because I come here for the common interest of cycling and sports, not for politics. If you are a good friend of mine, you know what I hope for and I know what you hope for.

The rest of you? It's no one's business but your own and I don't want to risk what we do have in this forum by the delicacy required for such conversations. Sometimes, it is best to put politics aside.

Mr. Silver, please be respectful that this is a women's cycling forum first and foremost, but to each his own.

Maybe we just vote, and not post? I've tried (and will continue to try) to keep my politics to myself online. Folks who know me in real life know. Here, there's not really a good way to discuss it.

I agree you can't discuss much without it becoming political, but 1) it's in the non-cycling section and 2) the poll *is* interesting to me. No objection from me to it being here.

    Works for me.

+1. I voted, and I won't say how or why.

Most political polls seem to be asking "who are you voting for" and not "who do you think will win." I know I've voted in a few races where who or what I voted for was not what I expected to come out on the winning side, so I think this is an interesting spin on things.

DITTO. I couldn't agree more with SK's post.

I have no objection to this thread (or to political threads generally, as long as people can stay civil). But I'm not voting, because I've learned over the past 10 years NEVER to make this sort of prediction .

I've already voted, and I know who I HOPE will win, but you won't see me making predictions before the votes are in .

Edit: sorry, just re-read that and realized how confusing it is. I have voted in the real-life election (early/absentee), but I won't make a prediction in the online poll for the reasons I've stated.

I'm not voting (in the poll), I'm not sayin' (who I want), I'm stayin' neutral (on the board). Off the board I'm volunteering but I'm not sayin' who what for I want or what for here on the board that is. and suggest we alllllll remain calm and civil like and do the same.

I vote (on the board) if people have local issues, candidates, propositions that are PRO CYCLING feel free to start a thread about local cycling issues. Is there a bond that builds safe routes to schools or a candidate that got the 3 foot passing rule through or CYCLING RELATED local issues let her rip.

For the purposes of the board I care not a whit (on this board) what bike either major candidate rides or what they think about cycling. I vote (on the board) to keep it local and cycling issues ONLY.

All those in favor say "aye"

Susan, when it's over can you tell us the statistics on sock sales?

Where is Perot when we need him most?

I don't even want to vote this time. I will, but not with good faith in either candidate. I hope this is one of those things that I look back on and think "Wow, was I ever wrong, things turned out way better than I had imagined."

I don't see disrespect in Mr. Silver's post at all. He simply offered a poll. That's pretty benign.

As the forum rules and all good pirates say "Dar be other places for political discussions Mateys"...

I'm going to leave the poll open but close the thread to further replies. Unfortunately, the software doesn't give me that option, so I hereby declare any replies below this one will be subject to deletion (but please just don't reply to this thread, so I don't have to delete it )

    Thanks!
