Ah!! The sounds I love to hear

Hi All,
I had such a great time riding today. It was warm but not too hot. the sun was bright but in that subdued autumn way. I hit the rail trail and laughed as I rode 4 miles along a paved path that was covered in beautiful orange, red, and yellow leaves. I listened as I rode, loving the sound of the crunching under my tires. I breathed deeply, loving the sweet smell of fall. I totally understand why some people don't like to listen to music as they ride, i turned my MP3 player off today. I just listened and enjoyed. The river, the leaves, the animals running away from me as I passed by them. Ah, it was glorious. And to top it all off, right as I was nearing the end, I just had to stop because even though it wasn't a nature sound, I heard the deep, familiar beat of drums from a mile away. The Pride of WV, aka the WVU Marching Band was practicing and I just loved it. I heard that familiar beat and familiar song that starts every WVU football game and I almost cried. It was just so incredible. That has never ceased to affect me after almost 13 years here in Morgantown. To me that sound doesn't represent football, it represents my home. I got a lot of reminders about why I love WV today and I just wanted to share. sorry this was so long.

There's just something about fall... I really love it.

DH coached football for years. That cool evening with fog still reminds me that it's football season. It seems odd not to be in the middle of it anymore!
