Hello all,
I'd just like to welcome myself to the TE forumsI am looking to get into road cycling, am shopping for my first bike (currently eyeing the Trek 1.5 WSD), and planning to join the University of California, Davis cycling team. I have been spinning for 2 years and work out regularly, so such exhausting activities don't faze me!
Wish me luck! I really look forward to finding cycling buddies here and on the team!

I use to race with the gals on that team. I wasn't on the team, just entered alot of the same races in the bay area. Paula Mara was a coach at one time and I think she owns a bike shop with her husband in Davis. Its always been a great team with wonderful bike handling skills.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy it.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes!!
university cycling teams are a great way to get into cycling! have fun!
Good luck! Here the university teams are super beginner friendly. They have some great racers but they also have people just testing the waters and learning.
My husband rode his last year and it is a shame he didn't know about it sooner. The few races he got to do were a really great time and he still sees some of the guys at races around here.
