    He won!

We went to the rider rally for the local Tour de Cure tonight. They had some drawings and such, and I just had this really strong feeling that we weren't going to win the vacuum cleaner. I thought we might win the $250 gift card from the sponsoring bike shop, but no, my son won a BIKE!

A Schwinn Cutter, that's not even in stores, yet. Single-speed. Perfect for a teenager.

I think I was more excited than he was. I spent my whole childhood watching Bozo Buckets and hoping, praying someone would get all six buckets and win a NEW BIKE (a Schwinn, too!). I jumped up like a little kid when they called Will's name. A NEW BIKE! I can still hear Bozo saying it.

My boy is so sweet, he said I could have the bike if I was so excited about it. But no, my knees need gears.

Too cool!!!! What a sweet boy you have, to offer you the bike. It looks like the perfect bike for a young man (subtle beauty, very sleek).

I, too, remember Bozo buckets growing up in Chicago. I'd miss the bus some days becasue I was watching it and wouldn't get outside in time (mom was at work before I'd wake up in the mornings, so she couldn't nag me to turn the TV off and get to school). Then I'd really wish I HAD the bike to ride to school.

Congrats on the win! How very fun!!!!

It was a game on the Bozo show where you'd throw ping pong balls into buckets lined up in a row. If you made each consecutive bucket, you'd win prizes. The grand prize was a bike.
I used to line up bowls in the living room and stand at one end and try to get balls in each bucket, practicing in case we'd ever go to the show and I'd get chosen to play. Sadly, I never went to the show. BUT- I now have 4 bikes of my very own. Take THAT, Bozo!
