    My New Blog

I just started a blog for women, especially mom riders who want some motivation to workout and ride their bike. I use it mostly to motivate myself to get on the bike regularly... Do any of you do that too? Do you have many followers or comments? Does it matter if anyone else reads or comments?
    Just Curious...

I started blogging the first of this year. It's mostly for my own pleasure and as a diary of riding. I average about 8-10 hits a day with some big days for reasons I don't quite understand.

I get the occasional comment and usually if I post a question, I'll get an answer.

I've had a blog for about a year but I only recently started posting in it regularly. The lack of posts was mainly because I couldn't come up with stuff to write. My blog isn't about a particular subject (and I don't want it to be), and that makes it harder. I read a lot of other people's blogs to see what they're doing and to get ideas for things from my own life to write about. I don't get a lot of hits or comments, but the more often I post, the more interest I get.

For me, I'm trying to build content for readers. I really want people to read my blog and to comment and to keep coming back to read and comment on the new content. But for a long time it was just for me and I didn't care if anyone came to it or commented on it. So whether hits and comments matter is up to you.

I think blogging is a great tool. I used to think that the internet kept people from interacting, but I've found that blogs, like social networking and forums, really help people connect. Sometimes this connection is with others, but with blogging, sometimes it's just a great way to connect with yourself.

I've had my blog for over 3 years. It's mainly a ride diary for me. I sometimes forget to post but the big events always make it into my blog. My daily rides occassionally do. It's a great way for me to remember a ride or event.

    Thanks

Thanks for sharing with me ladies! I had fun checking out your blogs and sites! I'll try to comment when I get the chance...
Susan how did you get the Music on your blog. PodBean? or something? Is it hard to get it to work? That's a great feature.
    Thanks for sharing with me.

I kept a cycling journal during the first few years of returning cycling.....I still have the black book to remember my journeys of self-growth, discovery and adventure. It was a great motivator...but found I was getting repetitive. And this is what I would be afraid of..not enough unique content for a blog. No point subjecting my boring repetitive writing style to connect better with myself by using a blog vs. a journal for myself that no one sees except myself.

Momonbike..methinks there is a great need to have a blog by a cycling mother with growing children. It would help alot of moms return to cycling/physical activity. Based on the reaction of other women to my cycling, alot of women with children...find it tough to conceive of prolonged exercise against the demands of young children. You could inspire them and provide useful tips.

Or startup a momcycling circle where several cycling moms cumulate cycling distance collectively online..and maybe their children could help add abit of mileage too.

Your blog looks great. I especially like the "bike parts demystified" section. I am still learning about such things.

I have a blog that I write in a few times a month. It is about being a middle age cyclist. I try to have the pieces be more than reporting. I wrote a recent piece on body image and the most recent one on the meanings of kits. It fun when I get in the groove of writing.
