Thumbs up Free saddle try out program for somen's saddles!

I am looking for a new saddle for my new bike! (the ruby is going to get it's seat stay repaired and become my backup and touring bike) I have a new Trek Madone 4.7 which is trading groups with the Ruby (ruby gets ultegra, trek gets the Dura Ace). and I want to try some new seats! I ride the Selle Italia Gel flow sport model. I called the Selle Italia distributor and voila! they have a new program where they will ship you 5 saddles of your choice (that they carry) for a $250 deposit on your credit card. You can keep them for 10 days, and they pay for the shipping - both ways! And they refund your $250 deposit! this distributor carries other brands, but I didn't ask if other brands of saddles were included in this program. I am so excited! It's impossible to find one or 2 of the WSD Selle Italia saddles around here, let alone 5! The distributor is "Pro Net Inc" and their # is 800 279-3793. Oh, and if you place an order for a saddle after using their test saddle program, they offer a 10% discount! Tokie

    CC,

I can see that you're just going to have to move up here! I know you'd fit in splendidly with the cool California chicks!!

Great to know. I just left my LBS who ordered the SI signo to try. I have an SLR that I like but need a little more width. Let us know what five you get and your results.

Thanks! I've been in the same boat with trying to find a saddle. Will you report back on how it goes?

This sounds really cool. I know that competitivecyclist.com has a demo program, but they have mostly men's saddles...when I emailed them if they could send me women's saddles instead, they never replied. I did not feel like calling them.

I saw that too, but it was a bit expensive and the selection wasn't as good as I had hoped.

It would be cool if we could get something going at TE to post the saddles we have sitting around that we aren't using (or that didn't fit and we got stuck with) and also make a list of desired saddles we want to try. Once a pair is established, the two can people can work out a shipping price and time period for the saddle exchange. Just a thought, as I know I have several "rejected" saddles collecting dust and a very sore tush in need of finding a good match.

Sounds like a good "sticky" thread for the Gear section...or maybe the wanted/for sale section.

I'm sure that I have at least a couple of saddles that I could contribute to the collection....

Oh nice. I know that they do demo programs with some shops, but they NEVER had women's saddles available to demo (or much variety at all). This is a much better approach.

I'll keep you all posted. CC, I know I prefer the SLR lady gel "sport" model to the SLR lady gel, but thanks for the offer! The shipping is via UPS and the woman I spoke with expected the saddles to arrive in about 2 days (I think she said they are in Washington state, I'm in So Cal.) Tokie
