    Talking My dearest doggie...

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Hey all! Tomorrow is the 2-year anniversary of the day I brought my dog, Hudson, home to live with us. So, I'm just in the mood to shout from the rooftops (or the TE Open Topic board) that I adore him and don't know what I'd do without him.

He has been the most wonderful companion for everything I do. I'm at a loss for words to express how wonderful it is to have such a sweet, loving, comical, and devoted furry kid. He brings so much joy and warmth into my home and has made a big difference in my and my husband's lives.

I just posted some pics on his blog for the occasion: http://hudsonthedog.com

Hope you like the pics and that you can excuse my gushing. I'm just feeling all mushy about it today...

Hudson, where did you get your curly tail?

My trio of Golden (retriever) girls think you're a hunk!!!

Make sure mommy and daddy buy you a present and some gourmet dog cookies.

I love Hudson! He totally reminds me of my former dog, Tango. Very similiar body type/look and I see a lot of the same expressions.

What a sweetie he is...and what a wonderful life you are giving him.

Thanks everybody! I love his tail too... so cute.

When I was looking for a dog to adopt two years ago, I saw the following pics of Hudson (then known as Ringo) on Petfinder.com. I fell madly in love with that tail and that expression! Notice the bald patches... He had mange which took two months of medicine, daily baths, and lots of love to cure.

My dog liked your pictures and ordered that I say congratulations to Hudson
Also, he asks "How come that Hudson is allowed on what looks like a sofa or bed and I am not allowed on furniture at all?"
I'm still looking for a good excuse for an answer...

Hudson is a cutie!! And he looks so full of Joie de Vive! I'll bet he has been an incredible companion for you. My Jimmy means the world to me, too. There is nothing like the relationship between a girl and her dog.

Because your dog hasn't properly trained its human yet?

My partner wanted to enforce a "no dogs on the furniture" policy when we got our first dog (a keeshond, whom we got as a puppy).

It took her all of 3 days to crack.

Yes, after several years I think he gave up and decided that I am not worth training
He knows that bedroom, kitchen, and furniture are off-limits in our house!
But of course he gets a little confused when we go to other people's homes and he can observe dogs on sofas, and recliners, and beds... and so he gets on their furniture if they allow him - but then when we go back home he leaves mine alone, which is perfect, hee-hee!

Um, yeah, well... Our no furniture rule lasted about 6 months. Frankly, I just changed my mind because I love to cuddle with him sooooo much. The only place he still doesn't go *uninvited* is our bed. He sleeps in his own bed. But sometimes, in the morning after DH leaves, I do invite him up for some cuddly time.

Awe, what a cute pup. It's amazing what a part of the fm those fur babies can become. They are always happy to see you, so forgiving of mistakes, could care less how your hair looks, loads of fun, and are the best keeper of secrets told. How could you not love em to pieces?

Plus, they do a great job of keeping the crumbs off the kitchen floor and they actually like morning breath! What more could you ask for in a companion?
